Last December Marabini Gig is a hit!

Tom Wyllie North East Singer Mic Stand
Tom Wyllie, performed his last gig at Marabini’s of 2013 on Saturday night. It brought to an end a run of eight straight Saturdays there (with a few Fridays thrown in too!).

There was a late start, with some large parties in, but, as ever, Tom had everyone dancing by the end of the night. He is very much looking forward to 2014, so watch this space for details of further bookings!

In the meantime, he will be back there on
Saturday 18th January 2014. Meanwhile he, and we, wish you all the very best for the new year.

Elton Tom Hits Morpeth!

Elton Tom 21122013
Tom played his last pre-Christmas Marabini’s gig last night. It was packed - again, and Tom couldn’t get started until gone 9:30pm. Still, he then sang through, without a break, until 12:20am, and he kept everyone thoroughly entertained. People likened the night to New Year’s Eve, and certainly, the atmosphere was great. Someone lent Tom their “party” glasses, which, together with his “elf” hat, gave him a bit of an Elton look about him!

Tom had the bar area packed with dancers, and also had a couple of conga’s trailing right round the restaurant. If you were there last night, thanks for helping make it a good night. If not, why not? You can catch him there next
Saturday 28th December - but be sure to book!

Over £4,000 raised for Cash for Kids by Anna Foster's Magic Choir!!!

Anna at The Sage
What a great night last night at The Sage, Gateshead. Regular listeners of Anna Foster’s Breakfast show on Magic 1152, will know all about it, but for the rest of you, you missed a wonderful night.

In true Gareth Malone style, Anna invited listeners to turn up, only about nine weeks ago, to form a choir that could sing in concert to raise money for North East Charity “Cash for Kids”. Unsure of what response she would get, Anna arrived to the first rehearsal, to find 70+ people, who went on to commit to rehearsing each week and deliver the fantastic performances we enjoyed last night. Directed by Mark Deeks of Music Newcastle, the choir sang impressively and were joined in the first performance by the pupils of Hadrian Primary School, South Shields.

They put a smile on everyones face! During the second performance - it being past the bedtime of some of those youngsters, local band North Road, gave us a couple of their songs.

Tom sang a solo of “Love Changes Everything” - a video of which will appear on this site very soon. He also sang “All I Ask Of You” with Anna, and again, a video will appear here very soon. Other soloists included tenor, Paul Smith, Laura Graham, and Mark did a lovely Christmassy duet with his girlfriend Angela Lawery. It all added up to a wonderful evening’s entertainment. Tom sold his CD on the night, and donated £80 from the sale proceeds to Cash for Kids. Who knows, but let’s hope they do it all again next year?

Fantastic Night - but come and join me next time, we can do even better!

Tom Wyllie Miguel Confetti Crop
Tom was back at Marabini’s on Friday and Saturday nights. Friday was one of the busiest Friday nights we can remember, and it was late before Tom was able to get singing. With some people still ordering their food, some eating and others ready to party, and with so late a start (nearly 10pm) - it was a difficult one to judge. Tom sang a mix which went down well. At the end of the night, he was asked to sing Nessun Dorma, at the end of which, Martin lifted Miguel up, behind Tom, and threw confettii over him, ending a realy good night.

On Saturday, with “normal service” resumed, Tom’s set had people partying long and hard. His entertainment had the restaurant still two thirds full at midnight! By the end of the night, as Tom finished with his final, final, final song, some of the diners had lifted Tom onto their shoulders as he sang!

Afterwards, people took to face book to say what a good night they had had....

“Great night Tom, Well done!” - Judith Piper

“Brilliant Night. Thoroughly enjoyed your singing. Thanks” - Julie McGaughey

“Brilliant Night” - Elaine Thornton

Take a look at the compilation of the last couple of Christmas nights at Marabini’s on the home page. Now, to paraphrase Chris Tarrant (Who wants to be a millionaire) - we don’t want to make that the best night. We can do better still, so come on and join Tom this Saturday at Marabini’s in Morpeth. Booking is essential! See you there!

Full steam ahead to Christmas!

Marabini071213
Time for a quick update! Here we are, halfway through December, and Tom has been singing his socks off! He has been singing both at Marabini’s and La Torre in Bedlington, and he has more Christmas gigs to come! La Torre is a new venue for Tom, but the staff and customers were very welcoming, and at the end of the night, Tom was giving the remaining few a “personal concert” of some of his favourite songs.

La Torre Tom
Christmas party season is well under way now though, and at Marabini’s last Saturday, Tom had the whole restaurant singing along to lots of songs. We have some video clips, which we will try and piece together in to a montage as soon as possible! Laura Mills definitely enjoyed her night:

Twitter - best time last night at the first of many of my 21st birthday celebrations, thank you @TomWyllieSinger & Marabini's for an amazing night! :)
You can check out where he will be on his gig dates page. He is back at Marabini’s this Friday and Saturday - and don’t miss his guest solo appearance at Anna Foster’s Magic Choir at The Sage on December 18th! They are singing in aid of Cash for Kids. But first, see you at Marabini’s!
