The Dyke Neuk Inn

Tom Wyllie, North East Singer was back at The Dyke Neuk Inn last night, entertaining both the diners in the restaurant and then locals in the bar. Tom was there in March helping Enzo, the chef raise funds towards his climb up Kilimanjaro. In fact, that night money was raised for four charities. Last Night, Tom returned and sang for an hour in the restaurant, before moving through to the bar, where he had everyone singing and dancing!

There were lots of familiar faces there, including one lovely lady who, having seen Tom perform elsewhere, asked Tom to sing Nessun Dorma - in the bar. Not perhaps your typical pub song - but it brought the house down! A mention too to Dennis, who was encouraged to get up and join Tom in a duet of Theme from New York, New York, which was great fun.

Finally our thanks to Darren, Liesbeth and all the staff and customers who made us feel so welcome. We are already looking forward to Tom's return there!

Absent friends

On Saturday, Tom returned to La Torre, Italian Restaurant in Bedlington, entertaining diners with his mix of classical and popular music.

Last time he was there, a lady enjoyed the night so much, that she booked her birthday party for Saturday, together with her 30 guests! Regrettably, at short notice, she had to cancel, because she has gone into hospital. We wish her well, and look forward to your return, when we will be sure to celebrate in style!

Despite the absence of such a large party, diners enjoyed a great nights' entertainment, with plenty of classical music to start off with, and plenty to sing a long and dance to later on. Particular mention goes out to Jackie and Rick, for whom this was the second time they had seen Tom perform. It seems Jackie loves Tom's rendition of Nessun Dorma, but it reduces her to tears each time! As if that isn't bad enough, Tom performed it for a second time as an encore on Saturday! Also to Mandy, whose birthday it was on Saturday, and who did a mean Gangnam Style, and Hand Jive!

We are all looking forward to returning to
La Torre next time, on Saturday 14th June. If you can't wait until then, catch him next Saturday at The Dyke Neuk Inn, starting in the restaurant, and moving later into the bar. Full details of Tom's forthcoming public gigs can be found here.

Springing Off!

Tom was back at Marabini’s last Saturday, a venue he always enjoys - hopefully diners enjoy seeing him there too!

In the coming weeks, Tom is performing at a variety of restaurant venues - some new, some familiar, so Tom will be taking his show to a wider audience during the spring. This Friday, Tom will be singing at
Sonero’s in Tynemouth, which quite recently has changed hands. Make your booking now, with David, the manager there, and look forward to a great night out on the coast. The following Friday (11th), Tom will be at Vercelli’s, in Hexham, a beautiful restaurant on Priestpopple, where Louise Brison is your host. That’s sure to be a great night too!

In the coming weeks, Tom will be back at Marabini’s,
La Torre in Bedlington, and Alnwick Garden too. He’ll also be returning to The Dyke Neuk, Meldon. He is also delighted to announce that this year he will be performing at The Boat Inn Restaurant, Kielder on New Year’s Eve - a venue which is fast becoming another jewel in Northumberland’s crown.

For dates and times, as always, check out the
gig dates page. Keep watching as more dates are added!

Tom helps another Kilimanjaro Trekker

How time flies! Since our last post, Tom has been back at Marabini’s (twice), helping create an atmosphere it’s hard to find anywhere else! Those of you who know Marabini’s know what we mean, and those who have not....why not?!

Tom Wyllie at The Dyke Neuk
On Saturday, Tom was up at The Dyke Neuk Inn at Meldon. He was performing at their charity night - an Italian Bistro Party Night - which was a sell out! The night was in aid of four charities - The Stroke Association, Cancer Research UK, Scope and Marie Curie Cancer Care. With all three sections of the restaurant full, it made for a great atmosphere, and there was a quiz, raffle and meat draw, in addition to Tom’s performance.

Dancing at Dyke Neuk
Once the meal was over, Tom provided lighting and sang some more upbeat songs to get diners up and dancing. Enzo was cooking for 107 people in one sitting, a task which some may have found more daunting than his own trip to Kilimanjaro in May, which he is doing to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. In fact, there is still time to donate to his cause via Justgiving.

All in all, it was a great night, and when we get to know a total sum raised, we will post it here. Meanwhile, you can catch Tom’s next public gig, back at Marabini’s, this Saturday, 15th March, from 8:30pm. See you there!

UPDATE:- We understand that £935 was raised for charity on the night, which is a fantastic effort, so enormous thanks to everyone involved. Organiser, Angela Young said Tom is “A true talent! Tom has a fabulous voice and put on a great nights entertainment for our charity night at The Dyke Neuk. Very professional from the moment we met him. Tom wanted to make sure the night was going to be good and that everything was right. You can tell he loves what he does, a brilliant singer who we would recommend to anyone for a great night!
Thank you for the kind words Angela - we hope to see you again soon!
