Another new venue

Tom Wyllie at Davanti Classico
Tom is well and truly back in the swing of things, after a fab weekend! On friday night, he appeared for the first time at Davanti Classico, in Tynemouth (in the station building). Many of you will know he has already been singing at Davanti Italia at Whitley Lodge, but this was his first gig at Classico. It went as well as had hoped, with lots of lovely feedback, both for his early classical repertoire, and for then getting people up and dancing!

The following night he was in Hexham at Vercelli for another great night, both in the restaurant and in the bar. It's always a fun (and late!) night with Louise and her staff at Vercelli's and Saturday was no different!

Wondering what all the fuss is about? Catch Tom for his Classical / Musical Theatre Repertoire in Morpeth Market Place on Sat 22nd August from 1pm - 4pm. Or book your table at La Torre, Bedlington for Fri 28th August or Davanti Italia for Sat 29th Aug. Hope to see you there!

He's back and raring to go!

Tom has been yodelling away in the Swiss Alps these last couple of weeks. After temperatures as high as 39 degrees, heights of 9,000 feet and swims in a number of different lakes, he is back and ready to entertain!

Next up is a debut gig this Friday, 7th August at Davanti Classico in Tynemouth. Book your table and come and see the Swiss version of Tom in action! OK, so the Swiss version isn't so different from the one you already know and love - but come along anyway, you know you want to!

Jumping in to Thunersee
Then on Saturday 8th August, he is back on familiar territory with his friends at Vercelli's in Hexham - always an unmissable night! Hope to see you all soon!

And we are off.....

Tom Wyllie singing at La Torre
Tom has had a busy couple of weeks with gigs at La Torre in Bedlington, a lovely combined 50th Birthday/Pearl Wedding Anniversary Party at The Old Comrades Club in Morpeth, Vercelli's in Hexham and Morpeth Market Place.

Our thanks to one and all, and in particular congratulations to Louise and Dave Brown on reaching your Pearl Wedding Anniversary, and for having such a great party, that raised over £1,000 for charity! Tom acted as both entertainer and compère for the evening, a role he thoroughly enjoyed. Dave were kind enough to say:

"Thank you for your help in making Louise and my anniversary and Louises (forthcoming) birthday function a fantastic night last night. As always you stole the show and made it memorable for all the right reasons. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon"

Morpeth Market Place was great too! The Morpeth Town Team have organised Music in The Market Place each Saturday over the summer. Tom received so many lovely comments many of them on "Morpeth Matters", some of which we will post on the testimonials page soon.

Tom sang between 1pm and 4pm in the sunshine. Take a look at MorpethNewsTV's video here. Tom will be back in Morpeth Market Place on Saturday 22nd August, between 1pm and 4pm - so why not come along and bring the sunshine with you! For now though Tom is off on holiday for a couple of weeks!

Tom's next public performances are at
Davanti Classico, Tynemouth on Friday 7th August and at Vercelli's, Hexham on Saturday 8th August. Details of Tom's forthcoming public gigs can be found here. For those of you who enjoyed Tom in the Market Place, why not come along to Horton Grange for an "Evening with Tom Wyllie" where he sings lots of his Classical/Musical Theatre/Easy Listening repertoire? He has dates there right through until next April.

Always a great night at Vercelli!

Tom Wyllie North East Singer singing at Vercelli May 15
It is becoming a habit! Last night was another great gig at Vercelli's, Hexham. Better still, it was like a reunion, with a number of regulars who had missed the last one or two of Tom's gigs there, returning. Thank you to everyone who came along and made it the night it was. Louise had been away to London and returned whilst Tom was singing. Was she pleased to come in with Tom singing? The photo says it all!!

Tom's next couple of public gigs are at Davanti Italia, Whitley Lodge. After the great success of his first one at the beginning of the month, we hope to see lots of you there on Fridays 5th and 19th June - ready to party!

New venue, old friends

Tom Wyllie at Davanti Italia
Friday saw Tom make his debut in a new venue - the excellent Davanti Italia, Whitley Lodge. This restaurant has been open for about eighteen months, and, like it's sister restaurants in Whitley Bay and Tynemouth, serves superb italian food, in friendly and classy surroundings. The staff enjoy making their customers' meal an "event". So Tom had been looming forward to performing there.

He couldn't have wished for a better reception. Customers and staff alike were generous in their appreciation - checkout the comments on Tom's testimonial page, which were made via e-mail, Facebook and Trip Advisor. Thank you to all who were there on the night - you made it thoroughly enjoyable. For example Anne Bell posted on Davanti Italia's Facebook page:
TomWyllieDavantiItalia2

“Fantastic atmosphere, gorgeous food and awesome entertainment by Tom Wyllie.
What a brilliant night it was like being on holiday everyone singing and dancing. Tom sings just about everything and what a great voice.”

Our thanks to Pino, Ben, Karim and of course Giovanni (who we have missed these last twelve to eighteen months at Marabini's) and all the staff. For everyone who enjoyed the night, and for those who wish they hadn't missed it, Tom will be back at Davanti Italia, Whitley Lodge on Friday 5th June and Friday 19th June. So, get your tables booked for what promise to be a couple of great nights!

In addition, we are pleased to announce that Tom will be returning to Horton Grange Country House Hotel in September and October. After a successful night in April, the lovely people at Horton Grange, have invited Tom back, and you can come along for "An Evening with Tom Wyllie" on Friday 11th September and Saturday 31st October. At Horton Grange, Tom tends to focus more on his Classical, Musical Theatre and Easy Listening repertoire - so if that takes your fancy, come and enjoy an evening of fine dining and music!

In the meantime, Tom's next public gig is at Vercelli's in Hexham on Saturday 30th May. It does book up fast so, reserve your table now - everyone has a wonderful night at Vercelli's!

Congratulations and Celebrations!

Tom Wyllie climbing up Mellbreak
April saw Tom take a well earned break in the Lake District. Many of you may not know he is a keen walker, trying to fit in ticking off all The Wainwright Fells in-between his busy schedule.

As soon as he got back, he headed straight up to Elligham Hall, where he performed for Mark and Becca Graham at their wedding reception. They had a fabulous day weather wise, a wonderful venue for a lovelyy couple. We wish them all the very
Mark Becca and Tom Wyllie
best for their future together. They were kind enough to get in touch after the big day and said:

“We knew Tom would be good, but he wasn't good, he was fantastic!
Tom was amazing! He really made the evening and the atmosphere was great!
Great set list, great voice and great interaction with our guests.
It wasn't just the two of us that thought Tom was great but our guests did too!
Everyone commented on how great he was!
Thanks for helping to make our day so special!”

Tom Wyllie wrap around
Tom followed that up with some great performances at Vercelli, La Torre and Horton Grange Country House Hotel. The latter made for a refreshing change, because Tom was able to sing more of his Classical and Musical Theatre repertoire there. The management indicated that they would love to have Tom back, so watch this space for further dates!

Tom Wyllie pointer
Almost needless to say his gig at Vercelli's went on beyond midnight, and he introduced a few new songs into his repertoire, just to keep everyone on their toes! Mike Brown of Life on Cartoon Motion came along and worked his magic, taking some awesome photos on the night. If you don't know of Mike, check out his website as he is an amazing photographer.

Next public gig is a first for Tom at Davanti Italia, Whitley Lodge. If you haven't been before, come along and check it out - lovely staff, great food, and Tom will provide some fab entertainment. See you there!

Mad March!

Since last we wrote, Tom has been singing at La Torre, Bedlington (twice), Vercelli's in Hexham - for the busiest night of the year to date, The Badger in Ponteland for a special charity night, and The Mayor of Morpeth's Civic Ball (after a one year absence) in Morpeth Town Hall.

Without exception, every night was great fun! Tom has a growing following at La Torre and Vercelli's so book early to avoid disappointment!
The Badger, Ponteland have been raising funds for two great charities and they posted on twitter:

"@TomWyllieSinger brilliant night raising money for 2 great causes #whatavoice
- @BadgerPonteland"

Check out the testimonials page because more and more people are getting in touch via the website, facebook, twitter and e-mail to say how much they are enjoying what Tom is doing. Following Tom's gig at Vercelli's on 7th March, Tom received lots of warm feedback, including from Louise Brison, the owner and all round lovely lady!

"Thank you for the most amazing night. Just when you think it can't get any better it actually does. He [Tom] is certainly a very special person"
Louise Brison

So, watch out for more of Tom's public gigs (in and amongst the weddings and private parties where he'll be performing) coming soon:
Vercelli, Hexham - Sat 18th April, La Torre, Bedlington - Fri 24th April and Horton Grange Country House Hotel - Sat 25th April. See you there, but don't forget to book!

Isn't January meant to be quiet?

When Tom first began gigging, someone with much more experience told him to expect January and February to be quiet months. Yet, January has often proved to be busy for Tom and 2015 has been no exception, with a number of private parties celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, a corporate function as well as his regular appearances at Vercelli's in Hexham and Marabini's in Morpeth.

Tom Wyllie Riders for Health 001
In 2013 Tom was asked to perform at the inaugural Riders for Health Ball at The Newcastle Marriott at Gosforth Park. The event was a big success and raised a lot of money for a really worthwhile cause. So, when they decided to hold a second Ball on 24th January, they turned to Tom again - this time with a bigger set. as yet, we don't know just how much money was raised, but judging by some truly enthusiastic bidding in the auction, it will have been a very worthwhile figure. Our thanks to Chris and all his organisers for asking Tom back!

Another highlight of January was his gig at Vercelli's, Hexham. It's a lovely restaurant, with lovely staff, and 10th January was a busy night! Tom starts off in the restaurant and later on moves into Bar Kalanta. there were people coming on off the street to join in the fun - so much so that not everyone who wanted to move through from the restaurant could get in! It was shoulder to shoulder! The good news is, that Tom will be appearing there regularly throughout 2015, and will be there on New Year's Eve! That's a long way off of course, but he will be back there on Saturday 7th March.

In the meantime, February brings with it more private parties and a return to La Torre in Bedlington - another lovely restaurant. Tom will be back at Marabini's too. Before those though, why not come and see Tom at the fabulous Horton Grange Country House Hotel for Valentine's Night? In fact,
Tom will be there on both Friday 13th and Saturday 14th February. The food is outstanding, there will be red roses for the ladies and even Romcom's showing in one of the rooms. Hope to see some of you there?

Happy New Year!!

Tom Wyllie North East Singer at La Torre
Happy New Year Folks!! December is always a busy month in the run up to Christmas, and December 2014 was no different. We had weddings, restaurants, charity performances and, of course New Year's Eve. Wow!

Tom was back at some of his favourite restaurants for Christmas Party season, including Vercelli's, La Torre and Marabini's. It's a lovely time of year - nobody needs much persuasion to get into the party spirit! Last month we mentioned Mike Brown of Life on Cartoon Motion Photography. Well, Mike came along to one of Tom's La Torre gigs, and took some great photo's. Take a look at them in
Tom's Gallery.

Tom was also performing at Maggie's Christmas Concert in Jesmond. Maggie's do terrific and much needed work at their centre at The Freeman Hospital. The concert raised thousand of pounds, and involved Tom, Graeme Danby, and Valerie Reid, as well last The Newcastle School for Girls Choir. Various regional figures read lessons, and everyone enjoyed the evening. At the end of the concert, Jason Isaacs also sang a few songs whilst everyone had mince pies and wine!

Afterwards Tom received the following messages of thanks:

Hi Tom I just wanted to say another big thank you for coming and supporting our event on Monday night. Your performance was fantastic and everyone has commented on how much they enjoyed it. Thank you again for all of your support.

Kelly Knighting-Wykes Centre Fundraising Manager

Tom, Very many thanks for performing at the Maggie's Christmas Carol Concert last night. Your performance of 'O Holy Night' was so powerful and hugely enjoyed by everyone. It was extremely kind of you to support Maggie's in this way. An enormous thank you. Do hope you and your family have a very happy Christmas and an excellent New Year. Very best wishes for your continued success.

Carolyn Ramsbotham (Concert Committee, Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre)

Dear Tom, Many, many thanks for all your help with the Maggie's Carol Concert at St George's it was an absolutely fantastic event and we have had the most wonderful feedback from the congregation, supporters and Maggie's Head Office. The evening was a great success for Maggie's raising in excess of £6,000 with more pledges still to come in, but most importantly created goodwill and awareness for our Centre here in the North East. We very much hope this will become an annual event. I would like to thank you personally, as Chairman of the Fundraising Board of Maggie's North East and on behalf of the Carol Concert Committee: David Wallace, Michaela Martin and Carolyn Ramsbotham. Finally, I wish you and your family a very Happy Christmas and a Healthy New Year.

Lorna Moran OBE, Chairman of Fundraising Board of Maggie’s North East Tom also sang for John and Jill Hudson at Seaham Hall Hotel, just before Christmas. They married on 20th December, for a truly Christmassy wedding. Of course, it's a fabulous venue, and Tom provided the early evening entertainment. John and Jill are a really lovely couple and deserve a very happy future together. Here's what Jill said afterwards:-

“I am so pleased I booked Tom to sing at our wedding. We were not disappointed. From initial meeting, through to the end of his performance, Tom was a delight to work with. He took immediate interest in our day and came to our venue to visit and see the set up before the day, which we were very grateful for. Tom's business has a true family feel, which we love, and fit in perfect with our day which also included our son's christening. I would highly recommend Tom for any event or wedding where you want to wow your guests with strong vocals, fun entertainment and a good range of style. Thanks for everything Tom! Now what party can I plan next where you can sing for us? Much love" – Mrs J Hudson.

So….Happy New Year to everyone. We hope it is a healthy one for you all. Tom's next public gig is at Vercelli's - aways a great night - and it's on Saturday 10th January. Hope to see you all there!

What a Great Weekend!

Many of you will know that Tom recently had surgery on his knee, which has seen him out of action for a couple of weeks. You will be pleased to know that it is on the mend, and whilst he hasn't been tripping the light fantastic yet, he has been back in action singing again this weekend at two of his favourite venues.

Tom Wyllie sings Never Forget at Vercelli
On Friday, Tom returned to Vercelli's in Hexham. If you haven't been yet, make sure you book for Tom's next gig. It is such a lovely restaurant, split between the restaurant and Bar Kalanta. Tom began the evening singing to diners, and then later he entertained everyone in the wine bar. Naturally it turned into a big party - lots of singing, dancing and laughing. Thank you to Louise and all her staff for making it such a wonderful place to entertain!

Tom Wyllie 111014.1
On Saturday night, Tom was back at La Torre in Bedlington. This was his first gig there since the new renovation work, and what a wonderful job Brent and the staff have done. They have created a lovely space for both dining and entertaining. It was a lovely crowd in last night, thank you all for the great feedback you gave Tom. A big shout out to all the children who followed Tom around the restaurant in what was for Tom quite a tame conga - his knee held him up! Tom's Dad especially enjoyed the night having raced back from Manchester just in time. He said it was the best steak he has had in ages, and, as always, the specialty cheesecake was fantastic!

Next public gig is on Saturday 25th October at The Old Storehouse, Amble. Come along and help make it another great night!

Best party in town....

vercelli piano photo1
Tom Wyllie returned to Vercelli's in Hexham last night, for what proved to be really great night. This was Tom's second time there, and he sets up both in the restaurant and the bar. So whilst diners were eating, Tom walked the restaurant singing Classical, Musical Theatre and a bit of swing, all to a warm reception. Folk gently swayed - and in the case of Nessun Dorma gave cheers, whistles, and the works!

Later, Tom moved back into the bar, and began moving upbeat. For one or two of his songs, he accompanied himself on the piano (Million Love Songs, Jamie Cullum's I'm All Over It), had people singing along, waving and dancing a little.

The night had a lovely feel - it's a lovely restaurant, run by lovely people, with lovely customers - what's not to like?!!

"Had the most wonderful night....everyone loved it" - Louise Brison, Owner, Vercelli's
"
We just wanted to say you absolutely made our night with your performance!!! We loved it so much :))) Hope to see you again very soon" - Claire Turnbull
"What a star!  I couldn't believe his repertoire from Puccini to Paolo Nuttini - brilliant." - Pam Pryor

Tom will be back there on
Friday 10th October 2014, and looks forward to entertaining you all again. In the meantime, catch Tom at his next public gig at The Old Storehouse, Amble on Friday 27th June 2014.

Vercelli, Hexham

Vercelli Billboard
Tom Wyllie, North East Singer, made his debut in Vercelli Italian Restaurant, Hexham last night. For those of you have yet to visit Vercelli’s - don’t put it off any longer! It is no ordinary restaurant, with lovely food, and friendly service. It’s a treat.

Tom set up, both in the bar and in the restaurant, and worked between the two, keeping diners entertained in both areas! Judging by the feedback, everyone enjoyed Tom, just as much as we enjoyed Vercelli’s, as Louise, the owner, has invited him back. You can see him there next on Saturday 21st June, 2014.

Meanwhile, you can next see Tom at
La Torre, Bedlington, on Saturday 19th April. He will be singing from about 7:45pm. Book your table now for a great night out!

Springing Off!

Tom was back at Marabini’s last Saturday, a venue he always enjoys - hopefully diners enjoy seeing him there too!

In the coming weeks, Tom is performing at a variety of restaurant venues - some new, some familiar, so Tom will be taking his show to a wider audience during the spring. This Friday, Tom will be singing at
Sonero’s in Tynemouth, which quite recently has changed hands. Make your booking now, with David, the manager there, and look forward to a great night out on the coast. The following Friday (11th), Tom will be at Vercelli’s, in Hexham, a beautiful restaurant on Priestpopple, where Louise Brison is your host. That’s sure to be a great night too!

In the coming weeks, Tom will be back at Marabini’s,
La Torre in Bedlington, and Alnwick Garden too. He’ll also be returning to The Dyke Neuk, Meldon. He is also delighted to announce that this year he will be performing at The Boat Inn Restaurant, Kielder on New Year’s Eve - a venue which is fast becoming another jewel in Northumberland’s crown.

For dates and times, as always, check out the
gig dates page. Keep watching as more dates are added!

Marabini's

Recently, Marabini’s decided to have live entertainment, only on a Saturday night. As regulars will know, many of Tom’s forthcoming gigs were on Friday nights, so there have been some cancellations to many of the dates at Marabini’s that Tom was showing on his Public Gigs page. We can only apologise for this, and suggest that anyone hoping to see Tom there, check when booking their table, that he will be performing. We know many of you do that already. He still has a couple of Saturdays booked which appear on the gigs page.

Tom will be appearing in Hexham at
Vercelli’s Italian Restaurant in April, and La Torre Italian Restaurant in Bedlington in April and May.

Tom was back at Marabini’s last night, and enjoyed a superb evening, where he entertained everyone, with the variety of material for which Tom has become well known. By the end of the night, he had the dance floor packed, and his appreciative audience gave him warm applause - which is what he thrives on! There were a few parties in last night, both big and small, and Tom had them all involved, singing at their tables, and dancing with them on the dance floor.

Don’t miss Tom’s next appearance at
Marabini’s on Saturday 29th March. Be sure to book a table though!
