Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to everyone! We hope you had a lovely Christmas and that you have a prosperous and healthy 2016.
It has been a while since we posted here, and that is largely because Tom had his busiest November and December to date! There is no point in reporting back on the many gigs he performed, although a special mention should go out to the Maggie's Christmas Carol Concert in Jesmond. This was the second such concert and if anything it was even better than the first. Maggie's Centre does an amazing job offering free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends. Tom has sung at both concerts, and last month he also provided the Post Concert - Concert! Whilst people ate their once pies and drank a glass of wine, Tom entertained. If you missed it, watch out for next year's concert - it's a really lovely occasion supported by some high profile North East Business people, and some fantastic entertainers, choirs etc.
Tom also sang at a number of his regular venues - Davanti Classico, Davanti Italia, Horton Grange, La Torre, Lollo Rosso Italia, Vercelli's, Sanderson Arcade, as well as at a number of private functions. If you came along - thank you, we hope you enjoyed it! If not, why not?
New Year's Eve was at Vercelli's in Hexham, and as you may know, Tom lost his voice on the night. It's a singer's worst nightmare, and we only established he had no voice at 6:30pm on the night. Apart from a couple of croaky lines of Auld Lang Syne, Tom could only provide a DJ service - an almost silent one. He did manage to dance with some of the revellers. We are so sorry to all who came, although a fantastic night still ensued, we can only imagine how good it would have been with Tom in full voice. Fortunately most of you know what a great night it usually is at Vercelli - especially when Tom is singing! So we look forward to seeing you all at his gigs there throughout 2016 and, yes, on New Year's Eve 2016! He will be back and we aim to make this one the best New Year's Eve ever!
So many have been stricken by this nasty virus, and it's a tough one to shake off. So Tom's first gig of 2016, following his recovery didn't come until Saturday 16th January. It was at a new (for him) venue - Marden Residents Association Club. Tom did a first set from his Musical Theatre/Pop Classical repertoire, then had everyone singing, dancing and doing a big conga in his second set! We had a great night and hope very much to make this another regular venue. The people there are lovely, and the event is open to non-members. The gig is ticketed and next time (Sat 16th April) we believe will include a buffet. What a bargain for a fantastic night out! Don't miss the next one. We hope to tell you about one or two other new venues soon.
Meanwhile, Tom is back in action on Saturday 23rd January at Lollo Rosso Italia. Book your table now at what is THE place in Morpeth.
